IntherootfolderofeachGPT,youalsofindafilecalledgpt.ini.TwoimportantentriesinthisfilearerelatedtolocalGPOs:

♦Version=x.ThisentryistheversionnumberoftheGPO,wherexistheplaceholderforanumberspecifiedbyaversion-counterfunction.Typically,theversionnumberiszero-based,andeachtimeyoumodifytheGPO,thiscounterisincrementedby1.However,thisnumberisadecimalrepresentationofaneight-digithexadecimalnumber(aDWORD),whichisthedatatypethegrouppolicyprocessesunderstand.ThefourleastsignificantdigitsrepresenttheComputerSettingsversionnumber,andthefourmostsignificantdigitsrepresenttheUserSettingsversionnumber.Inotherwords,ifyouseeVersion=65539,thecomputerunderstandsthisashexadecimal0X00010003,whichtellsitthattheComputerSettingsversionis3,andtheUserSettingsversionis1.

♦Disabled=y.ThisentryreferstothelocalGPOandtellsthedependantfunctionswhetherthelocalGPOisdisabledornot.IfyoudisabletheGPO,thevalueplacedhereis0;andifyouenableit,thevalueischangedto1.
